Buddy's Second Chance Obedience

We are focused on building that amazing bond between owner and dog.

In the dog training world, I am considered to be a Balanced Trainer which means that I use both Positive and Corrective methods to train a dog. In the beginning when teaching a new command, it is all positive reinforcement along with lots of praise from the owner. Praise can be something physical like a pat or a kind word. Tangible reinforcers may be giving them a yummy treat or playing with them with their favourite toy. Once a command is established, I start to use fair but yet assertive correction when the dog ignores the command. The command is then repeated and praise is given once the dog has given the correct response. I also find having private one-on-one in-home sessions is best as the dog is more comfortable in his or her own environment and any problem behaviours are more likely to show their true colours.
