Cultured Canines

Outdoor, treat free, dog training classes for REAL LIFE in Calgary! Five weeks is all that stands between you and dropping your dog's leash!

Cultured Canines is unique in that no treats or any masking tools are used in any aspect of training. I will give you the information you need to train your own dog. We teach dogs in a way that is natural to them! All of our classes are hosted outdoors so you and your dog will learn how to deal with real life situations. Our classes go far beyond just basic commands. Why take a class that is indoors? You walk your dog outside and that is where you need them to listen to you. Classes are hosted all over the city so that you and your dog are exposed to fun new sights, smells, and sounds. Your dog will learn to listen to you regardless of any distractions that are around. You will build a bond with your dog based on trust and respect, not negotiation and bribes. Another great thing about this training is that it isn’t just for “bad” dogs…It’s for anyone that wants to strengthen the bond that they have with their dog!

About the trainer...

My name is Beth, and I have two dogs. Jake the Mini Schnauzer and Leia the mutt!

My reason for becoming a dog trainer is a bit of a sad story. My first dog, Jett, was a year and a half old when he was killed. Jett and I were at the off leash park when he saw another dog across the street. Jett ran after it, and was hit by an SUV. This was, without a doubt, the worst day of my life. Jett had no formal training, the only training he had was me bribing him with treats to do “tricks”. We got our new puppy, Jake, two months later. I was determined to do everything right with this dog.

I took a training class with Jake when he was 5 months old. I learned so much in the class, but most importantly I found out how to stop Jake should he ever chose to run across a street like Jett did. Shortly after finishing the class, I saw a course to become a a dog trainer in Calgary being offered. Needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity!

As a dog trainer, I want to help you have the best possible relationship with your dee-oh-gee! I don’t want anyone to have to endure what I went through with Jett. I don’t only work with adults either! I love teaching dog training to kids and young adults! Also if you need wine or car advice... I’m your girl!

I hope you enjoyed reading my story, now get off your computer and go walk your dog!!!
