With 20+ years experience, at Shorthill Coonhound Training Facility-owned and operated by Chip Smith, you can expect quality dog training with your dog. I have trained and owned 2008 Grand American Champion. I have trained and owned 2004 Grand American Champion.
I have placed in the top 20 many times. I have trained and owned dogs that have placed in the AKC World Champion, PKC World Champion, Super Stakes, and the Baby Stakes, as well as many others.
I am no longer participating in hunts, as training dogs is my passion. Safety is a top priority for all dogs. We have an open door policy and you are welcome to check on your dogs health and well being at any time. The dog kennel is only about 20 yards from my home and the raccoon pen approximately 100 yards. Males and females are kept separated. All dogs are let out in a fenced area for exercise daily. Dogs are trained in a raccoon only pen as well as in the wild. You will be given progress updates on your dog. If schedule and time permits-owners can go hunting with dog upon pick up and see exactly how your dog is doing.
