Burk's Behavioral Training (lead by Marci Burk) specializes in personalized, in-home dog behavior modification sessions that help owners interpret their dog's language, understand where their behaviors come stem from and teach you as the owner how to correct them. Marci uses a hands-on approach in teaching you how to become the leader of your pack. All without the need for yelling, frustration or bribing with treats. When the dog understands that the owner is the leader, not him, he can relax and follow your guidance.

What issues are addressed in a session?
Each session is custom designed to address any issues your family is currently experiencing with your dog as well as taking into account your expectations for how he acts and relates to your family and lifestyle. No two sessions are the same!

About Marci Burk - Burk's Behavioral Training Owner

My love for dogs began at a very young age. After years of volunteering at shelters and rescues as well as working for a boarding kennel in my early 20's, I knew working with dogs would become my life's work and passion. With the intent of growing my knowledge and skills, I worked as a partner with Indiana Dog Whisperer for three years. This allowed me to work one-on-one with thousands of dogs, very unique issues and their loving owners. Over 10 years of training, experience and dedication has allowed me to experience every different type of situation, know how to interpret a multitude of dog behaviors and overcome each and every one of them.

My mission is simple. I want to teach dog owners to understand their dog's "bad behaviors" and effectively stop them on their own as well as help them reset proper expectations in their home. Every dog teaches me something different but they all have one thing in common, they want and need their owner to lead them. Very often, dogs get sent to shelters simply because their owners were not equipped to handle correcting undesired behaviors. Through understanding and restoring control to the owner, I strive to keep each dog where they belong: at home with their families.

Dogs are our best friends. I believe every dog deserves a second chance to stay in their home. We as humans need to learn how to understand their language just as they have learned ours!
