My first "own dog" turned out to be a problem child. Like so many dog trainers before me, my dog was my learning catalyst.
After much study I began assisting to run classes at the German Shepherd Dog Association of WA, completing the instructors' course under Honey Gross-Richardson. I also assisted nationally accredited trainer, Desma McLeod in running her classes. Eventually, Desma moved to another country and left me in charge! :-)
After retiring from my work as a Conservation Educator and closing down my business, Raptor Presentations, dog training has become my second career.
I now run basic obedience classes for Billy's Day-Care for Dogs and the RSPCA of WA. I also produce online learning modules and consult privately to help people better understand, train and manage their dogs.
