Welcome to Living Prairie Kennels! We are a premium dog kennel facility located in the heart of the prairies near Blackie, Alberta.

Michelle Birch is the owner of Living Prairie Kennels (formerly known as Country Cuts and Kennels). Michelle and her husband, Chris, along with their two children have lived on the land with a wide variety of animals for the past 18 years.

It began in 2007, when Michelle started to offer grooming services. It quickly became very successful, and in 2013 she expanded to include a kennel to offer boarding, daycare, and puppy training. At Living Prairie Kennels, your dog is treated like a member of our family!

Michelle has always been passionate about working with animals and enjoys being active in her local community. She volunteers with Literacy for Life Foundation’s Dog Tales program; as well she is a dog trainer in the High River Perfect Paws 4-H Club.

Living Prairie Kennels is proud to offer a wide variety of services for your furry family member!

We offer Puppy Training for puppies up to 6 months of age. Your puppy will come and stay with us for a short duration to participate in a variety of activities designed to help them socialize and learn proper behavior. This includes a basic training package designed to set your puppy up for success in your home. We also offer in-home and phone consultations.

Your dog will enjoy staying with us in our premium dog kennel facility! With our overnight boarding, all of our guests are taken for several walks each day, so they get plenty of exercise and socialization. We offer monthly boarding rates and a bath and blow dry service for a small additional fee.

Our daycare program is very popular and currently full. Doggy Daycare gives your dog plenty of exercise and socialization, so they are tired by the time they come home.
