My name is Thomas Hughes Junior I am an A panel judge in the Irish Kennel Club. I am also a non-panel judge in the English Kennel Club. I have been running labradors for the last 20 years. I have made up six Field Trial Champions (FTCH) and am currently running INTFTCH Apache Joe.

In 2011 I came third with INTFTCH Apache Joe who also has won three game fairs back to back (2009-2011). He has also ran for Ireland at the CLA game fairs and is currently my most successful dog.

Other achievements of mine include winning the Irish Championship in 1996 with FTCH Jasmin Pal and getting second place in 1997. FTCH Jasmin Pal was bred and owned by my father, Thomas Hughes Senior. I came second again in 2008 with FTCH Donaghaguy Garnet.

I am in the fortunate position to have made up a number of FTCH dogs from the same line including Gary of Clonbarra; his son FTCH Donaghyguy Garnet and his son FTCH Copperbirch Dasher. I have recently won a trial with a daughter from this line FTW Tullyah Beauty.

I have qualified and run on the Irish gundog team at the CLA for the past four years. I have won awards with my dogs in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England and have run in the IGL on three ocassions. My father has also made a lot of FTCH's including breeding the IGL winner.

I have judged the Irish Championship and also judged abroad. I have enjoyed all the people I have met and places I have visited.

I enjoy rough shooting and I continue to try to train all my dogs to a very high standard.
