Dog Whispering - Psychology and Behavioural Training
Pack Walks
Day Care

Coming soon, Puppy socialization mornings

Qualifications;
Levels one to three in K9 behavioural psychology and rehabilitation gained from The UK Dog Whisperer (Glen Stanford) in Essex.

My methods;
Force free training using calm assertive methods and positive reinforcement in the form of touch praise, I only use food rewards when working on recall. Now for the hippy sounding bit.... If you have ever studied martial arts, yoga, tai chi, or pilates you will be well aware of 'energy', every living being has it whether it be human, animal or plant, the way I work is by getting connected to that energy by understanding the thoughts of the dog through minute body changes, its movements and reactions to its environment, by slowing the body you also slow the mind, a calm mind will be more receptive to thought change rather than a reactive irrational mind.
My training is usually done with very little verbal instruction from myself to the dog, it is done through minor lead corrections, hand signals and by having a whole lot of patience, if you would like to find out more, why not come on one of my PAW sessions where you too can learn these techniques, I will look forward to seeing you all soon.

About Chris
For longer than I can remember, I have been fascinated by the behaviour of dog's. How they relate to other member's of their pack and how they relate to you, their 'pack leader'.
Understanding their natural instincts helps us to find the best ways to train and work with man's best friend.

Dog Whisperer
Whispering simply means that I have an innate ability to read a dog's behaviour and to interpret the language that they use to let us know what is happening in their canine world.
This allows me to work with all manner of behaviours from pulling on the lead to deeper psychological issues.

Pack Walks
Once a month I run a social pack walk. Whilst this is a great excuse for a pub lunch it is also incredibly important for the dogs to learn how to be in 'packs'. Dogs can show anxiety, aggression, intimidation when amongst other dogs.
This is a great training day for both dog and owner.
These walks are usually free but if i can arrange for a pub to lay on some soup and coffee on our return, there will be a small charge per head (not the dogs) to cover costs. All you have to do is like the Facebook page and also let me know that you are coming by posting a short comment below the arranged 'pack walk

Day Care
Work and other commitments can affect the relationship we have with our dogs.
They may be showing signs of separation anxiety or simply not getting the exercise they require, no matter our best intentions.
Let me help you by taking your dogs off your hands as many times a week as is required.

Assessment
I am able to visit you during the day or evenings at a time that is convenient for all. I am also available to see you at weekends where necessary.
A full assessment of your dog will require up to four hours.
We can then discuss training requirements / care.

Contact Me
Please don't hesitate to contact me with the needs of both your dog (s) and yourself.
I am located in Hale, just outside Woodgreen on the Northern edge of the wonderful New Forest. I currently cover a radius of about 30 miles and would cover a larger area where there is demand.

I look forward to meeting you and your faithful friends very soon...

Chris Cowell.
