The Doctor Dog foundation invests in a society in which cordiality, tolerance and openness are the basic concepts. In such a society similarities instead of differences are emphasised. In a world where all the more people and cultures live side by side it is necessary to connect self-interest to the common good. This involves more than just focussing on one’s own social group. We advocate a society that stimulates people in approaching each other cordially based in a positive attitude. We use stable dogs as role models and tutors because they possess this cordial and positive attitude. Moreover unique friendships between dogs and people can come about. These friendships between outwardly such different creatures, we feel, symbolise the friendships present-day people from different backgrounds, cultures and religions, ought to maintain.
